January Climate Conversation

Alternative Energy Options

Press Release Climate Momentum is excited to share a taste of tomorrow in the upcoming Climate Conversation, January, 23, 7-9 at the City Hall Auditorium.  The topic is Alternative Energy Options.

We’re delighted to welcome Derek Satnik of West5 and S2E Technologies, to speak on the future of sustainable energy in housing! West5 is a sustainable community on the NW edge of London, which features solar panels, battery storage for generated electricity, EV charging stations, and heat pumps.

We know that in the long run renewable energy is cheaper, and we know that oil and gas pollution is the primary driver of climate change. Satnik is one of the primary designers of West5, and is a dynamic speaker.  We are indeed fortunate that he is coming to share the experience of building sustainable energy into the design of a community and to learn more about options that might be wise moves for Stratford residents.

Industry and Circular Economy

Going in circles? Enter the world of Circularity, where recycle and re-use limit the need for using resources we need for a healthy planet. Mark McIntosh will take us to the world of VicWest, showing us earlier changes they have made in the Stratford plant, and some new changes in line with their motto, Planet Passionate. Step into the world of tomorrow, a world where we can strive for a Circular Economy at home and in industry.

(Circularity: practices that optimize resource use and minimize waste across the entire production and consumption cycle, emphasizing sustainability and economic efficiency. )
