Our guest will be Peter Love of Love Energy Consultants. Peter was the first Chief Energy Conservation Officer for the province of Ontario and has a long history of environmental leadership and advocacy. He will be speaking on energy conservation and sustainability, and introduce us to district power generation and the financial benefits it offers to communities.

Our guest this month will be Wendy & Brian Anderson of Athlone Farms discussing their on-site bio-digester that captures methane gas from farm manure and organic waste. the process
- reduces methane pollution
- generates a great deal of electricity
- provides field crop nutrients
- supplies clean bedding for the farm’s dairy herd

This is the second of six Climate Mixers planned for 2025-2026. Next one will be January 21/2026 at city hall where the Energy &Environment committee and Climate Momentum will follow up on the Conversations with practical climate actions you can take. On March 11, Peter Love, past chief energy conservation officer of Ontario, will discuss lessons learned from the early days of renewable energy and also future plans for “district energy” in towns our size. On April 8, the SSCS Eco Club and Climate Momentum will discuss diet and climate change at the Local Community Food Centre and in May the focus will be on native plants and trees.
