ABOUT
Started in 2019, Climate Momentum was inspired by the student-led Fridays for Future movement. We have since grown into a robust group of volunteers who are passionate about climate responses at the local, municipal, business, and individual level. We work in a variety of ways, from our twice-monthly newsletter to our annual Earth Day Street Party, from our learning events at the library to our election-season candidate questions. We focus on supporting individuals and advocating for community-wide change in key areas of meaningful climate action: green transportation, net zero buildings, waste reduction, and biodiversity protection.
Through collaboration on events and information campaigns, we have built meaningful relationships with the Stratford Public Library, the Stratford District Secondary School’s Eco-Club, Trashion Week, the Perth County Sustainability Hub and the Stratford Affordable Housing Alliance.
Our vision is for a community engaged in creative, bold responses to the global climate crisis and committed to a carbon-neutral Perth County by 2040. We aim to be Stratford’s go-to group for climate conversations and meaningful work. If you’re interested in joining in or learning more, drop us a line.
